What I had for Thanksgiving dinner this year

I think I neglected to mention that there might be some protracted silence around these parts since I was going away on a family vacation for a couple of weeks, but now I’m back, and I’m armed with lots of pictures and with rather less enthusiasm on the subject of Croatian food than I had anticipated. More is forthcoming, but first: I learned many things on this trip, one of which is that I shouldn’t ever deprive myself of a proper Thanksgiving ever again.

Somehow, a middling gulasch on a giant heap of mashed potatoes served at a crappy cafeteria somewhere around Split just doesn’t cut it, even if chased by half a piece of sour-cherry strudel.
