The vendors have been back at the Red Hook ballfields for a month now, and I’ve done (myself, mostly) a great disservice in not visiting them until now. But I made up for it by going twice in one weekend.
The pupusas revueltas (chicharron con queso) from the Salvadoran truck, I can attest, are as good as ever. The platanos (maduros, of course) are better at the Dominican truck adjacent. And their tamal de pollo is still a fine specimen.
Next time we’ll bring cards so we can play some Hearts at Ikea while eating Swedish meatballs (because once Steve’s Key Lime Pies is closed, nothing says dessert like Swedish meatballs).
