Food oddities of Great Britain. part i.

connie, our on-site correspondent, reports that she recently tried a so-called bacon buddy: take two slices of white bread, completely spread each with butter and then with ketchup, generously sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the ketchup, and place 3 or 4 slices of fried bacon (the thick, wide english kind) between the bread. voila and bon appetit. connie admits: “i’ll have to say, it’s pretty good for what it is.”

she also says: “bacon is big here. the bacon aisle and the baked bean aisle are generally pretty impressive at the stores here.”
