dinner tuesday night:

timmy made this artichoke ravioli from scratch, and it was a revelation! the sauce is made from pureed artichoke and roasted veg stock — no butter, no oil, no meat products — and it was so rich and velvety. fred, this would be a great dish for you. granted, i’ll take butter, oil, and meat product in anything and everything, it’s just nice to know one can create something so lovely without these things. (oftentimes, veg options in restaurants aren’t really vegetarian, even if they claim them to be.)

veal chop with the usual spring veg medley. veal skin is pretty yummy. the veal itself was ehh (not through any fault of timmy’s. just not a very exciting cut of meat).
